Istituto Marangoni Miami’s Vocational Program is designed to offer a tailored curriculum addressing the needs of Fashion Design disciplines. The Miami School of Fashion and Design Vocational Programs offers flexibility and the opportunity to study shorter fashion courses through the One-Year fashion and design programs. These programs, separated into four levels spanning 11 weeks each, are highly recommended for those aiming to become capable professionals in the industry. The program aims to enhance students’ continuing education in fashion by providing them professional skills and valuable industry experience. Through project-based learning, industry partnerships, and hands-on workshops, students engage in practical projects tailored to foster creativity, critical thinking, and practical application.

Learning Outcomes
Our fashion design vocational program provides a well-rounded education to prepare students for success in the fast-paced fashion world. The curriculum combines theory and practical application to teach drawing techniques for fashion illustrations and foundational skills in constructing fashion garments. Additionally, students gain a deep understanding of the fashion industry, including supply chains, manufacturing, and scheduling. They also learn to develop original fashion collections through research, analysis, fabric manipulation, and sewing. Digital proficiency is emphasized through CAD software training for creating professional portfolios. The program fosters creativity and innovation while sharpening pattern-cutting and garment construction abilities. Hands-on projects ensure students develop a comprehensive skill set crucial for thriving in fashion design.
The fashion-centered curriculum prioritizes sustainable design practices, arming students with the knowledge to integrate environmental consciousness into their creative endeavors. Interaction with the fashion industry is a top priority at our fashion school to provide students with valuable practical experience and opportunities for career advancement. Our Fashion Design Vocational Program is designed to help students comprehend market dynamics and become industry-ready. With over 80 business relationships with luxury houses in the Miami Design District and beyond, students can engage in real-life scenarios, working with professionals in the field and enhancing their fashion design classroom learning. Students gain practical experience and real-world knowledge through brand partnerships, fashion design contests, runway styling for luxury brands, industry-based projects, and business proposals. Our dedicated Career Services team provides individualized support, including assistance with résumé building, mock interviews, and job applications. The opportunities extend beyond the classroom at our school, making our graduates exceptional.
Facilities and Resources
Our campus at Istituto Marangoni Miami is housed in a cutting-edge, 7-story building in the center of the Design District. Every level is planned to meet the various needs of our students, offering them a space that fosters creativity and learning. Theory classrooms, a photoshoot studio with cameras and props, an atelier for practical design work, and computer labs with industry-standard programs like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, along with Clo3D for digital design, are just a few of our vast resources. How To Apply
If you are interested in applying to our One-Year Vocational Program in Fashion Design, the first step you should take is the Online Application. Once completed, a detailed email will be sent with instructions on how to proceed with your registration, document submission, and visa application, if applicable. International students will have further assistance throughout their visa solicitation process with our Designated School Official (DSO). Once your registration has been completed, you will receive instructions about housing options, orientation, and more.

Mario Braghieri has been involved in fashion production for over thirty years. At a young age, his parents owned a manufacturing company that created high-quality samples and prototypes for countless well-known brands in Italy.
He attended Istituto Marangoni Milan with the desire to leave his mark in the fashion market as a pattern maker. Upon graduating, he developed samples and worked in fashion production for the Nadini Group, an Italian designer label manufacturer based in Modena-Italy, including designer houses such as Gianfranco Ferrè and Fendi. Subsequently, he worked as a fashion production consultant and started his career at Marangoni as an assistant teacher.
Mario has always pursued his career with determination, focusing on deepening his knowledge and skills in garment construction and pattern making. He has worked for renowned fashion names such as Emporio Armani, Maska, Cerruti, Mariella Burani, and Karl Lagerfeld. For the past 27 years, Mario has been a major player in guiding Istituto Marangoni through its international growth, bringing his technical knowledge, industry expertise, and garment-making finesse to the School.

She established Artgear, a renowned fashion label favored by global celebrities. In 1994, she achieved a Master of Art in Teaching and imparted her art and design knowledge for over 25 years. Amy's proficiency encompasses drawing, painting, textile design, and fashion. She presently serves as Fashion Program Leader for Events & Competitions in Fashion Design at Marangoni Istituto Miami.

Her journey from Argentina to Copenhagen, London, New York, and Miami has enriched her creative palette with diverse cultural influences. She holds an MFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology, pursued postgraduate studies at Central Saint Martins, and completed her undergraduate education at the Universidad de Palermo and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Bergero's expertise lies in the fusion of fashion design and art, emphasizing innovative creative processes that explore gender, culture, and identity. Her career includes recognition as Harper's Bazaar Argentina's Emerging Designer of the Year, SUNY PACC Prize New York, and she recently earned a nomination for the Hispanic Heritage Award by the City of Miami Beach for her contributions to Miami Beach's Hispanic community, particularly for her installation project "Heart of Community" at the Faena Art Project Room.

Being a gymnast allowed her to travel the world and learn about different cultures. She always loved fashion and started her formal fashion education in San Antonio-Texas, graduating cum laude from the fashion management and design program. After her graduation, she worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years first for a catalog business and later for a fashion ready to wear company. In the last 12 years, she has been working as a professor teaching undergraduate and graduate students in the fashion and graphic design programs. Michelle Rofe has her master’s degree in graphic design from MIU. She believes that these two art disciplines complement each other in many ways. She also works as a co-producer and editor for a media production company. The concept of beauty and aesthetics are themes that she is passionate about and loves to share her ideas and experience and knowledge with others. “Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Mario has always pursued his career with determination, focusing on deepening his knowledge and skills in garment construction and pattern making. He has worked for renowned fashion names such as Emporio Armani, Maska, Cerruti, Mariella Burani, and Karl Lagerfeld. Michelle Rofe was born in Mexico but moved to Israel at a very early age. She was Israel national champion in gymnastics and participated and won several international competitions. Being a gymnast allowed her to travel the world and learn about different cultures. She always loved fashion and started her formal fashion education in San Antonio-Texas, graduating cum laude from the fashion management and design program. After her graduation, she worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years first for a catalog business and later for a fashion ready to wear company. In the last 12 years, she has been working as a professor teaching undergraduate and graduate students in the fashion and graphic design programs. Michelle Rofe has her master’s degree in graphic design from MIU. She believes that these two art disciplines complement each other in many ways. She also works as a co-producer and editor for a media production company. What is the duration of the One-Year Vocational Program in Fashion Design?
The Fashion Design One-Year Vocational Program spans a total of 12 months. It consists of 4 levels, with each level lasting 11 weeks and separated by a 2-week break.
What are the eligibility criteria for enrolling in the program?
For the One-Year Vocational Program, the eligibility criteria is the following: 18 years or above or a high school graduate, valid ID, updated resume, English Test (if applicable).
Can I apply for the program if I have no prior experience in fashion design?
The One-Year Vocational Program does not require prior experience. Even if you have experience or are a beginner to fashion design classes, we can assess your resume, conduct an interview, and review your professional portfolio if you still want to enroll in this program.

Students are able to apply if the job is available for them and also relates to their area of interest.

Through our brand partnerships, students have the opportunity to participate in business case studies, get to know and listen to industry professionals, create relationships with their professors who are professionals in the field and more.
Can the program be completed online?
The One-Year Vocational Program is only offered on campus and cannot be completed online. We do offer fashion and design classes online for other programs, but since the One-Year program is condensed to a shorter time frame than a traditional degree, we strive to ensure that students are attending classes in person to receive the most comprehensive.
Can international students apply for the program, and what are the visa requirements?
International students are able to apply to the One-Year Vocational Program in Fashion Business at Istituto Marangoni Miami. The visa requirements would be a copy of a valid passport, resume, english test, bank statement showcasing double the amount or more of the tuition, and a sponsor letter, if applicable. After all documents have been submitted, we will issue your I-20 and give you detailed instructions to follow for the visa application.
