Johanna Ortiz; next speaker to appear at “In Conversation With”

Press Release | Johanna Ortiz, Next Speaker to Appear at “In Conversation With”

Istituto Marangoni Miami announced today that Johanna Ortiz will be the next speaker to appear at “In Conversation With” on November 20th. The Colombian-born designer will talk about women in leadership and embracing their roots while running a successful company. Today, Ortiz’s designs are sold at some of the world’s top retailers and over 73 doors globally. Behind her signature ruffles and off-the-shoulder silhouettes, worn by Amal Clooney and Sandra Bullock, among many other celebrities, is a unique point of view that goes to the core of her Latin roots to create a lifestyle brand beyond clothes and based on heritage.

“We are delighted to welcome Johanna Ortiz to Istituto Marangoni Miami. She has become one of the most talked about brands globally, capturing the eye of consumers and industry insiders. Ortiz is the embodiment of hard work, and her story of success and authenticity will be inspiring to the younger generations and students,” said Hakan Baykam, President of Istituto Marangoni Miami.

To turn Miami into an internationally recognized fashion hub, the world-renowned Italian fashion and design school, Istituto Marangoni, will hold this series of talks with the most influential names in fashion and design. The first guest was Steven Kolb, President of CFDA, followed by designer Bibhu Mohapatra, who held mentoring sessions with students during his visit to the Miami campus. This project is in partnership with renowned fashion business expert Eva Hughes, an advisory board member of Istituto Marangoni Miami, who will also be moderating this series of talks.

Istituto Marangoni Miami is a haven for emerging fashion students, offering a platform to express their creativity and learn key industry skills. With a diverse and highly qualified faculty, the school provides a comprehensive range of programs, including a two-year Associate of Arts Degree in Fashion Studies, a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Styling, and Fashion Business, and a Master’s in Fashion & Luxury Brand Management. Our aim is to nurture the next generation of fashion leaders.
