Executive Vice President; Eva Hughes

Press Release | Executive Vice President, Eva Hughes

Eva Hughes, a founding member of Istituto Marangoni Miami’s (IMM) prestigious advisory board, has assumed the role of Executive Vice President. This transition marks a significant step in her involvement with The Miami School of Fashion & Design, where she will leverage her business acumen and extensive public speaking experience to inspire and guide the Marangoni community.

With a 20-year history of forging strategic alliances and mentoring entrepreneurs, Eva Hughes brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Her reputation as a leading figure in the Latin American fashion industry, coupled with her expertise in Business Strategies, Leadership and Team Development, Content Creation and Editing, Advertising, Event Management, Media Relations, and Corporate Communications, positions her as an ideal fit for the rapidly expanding university.

“I have known Eva for a while, and I have deep respect for the work that she has accomplished as a business and thought leader in the region,” said Hakan Baykam, president and CEO of IMM. “It is of utmost importance to me that our students are exposed to the entrepreneurial attitude she puts in all her endeavors. If one learns by example, Eva Hughes is one to model.” She will become a more active ambassador at all IMM events, as she will become the face of IMM in the United States and the Latin American region, participating as a speaker at important events and fashion weeks. She will also facilitate networking with fashion brands, celebrities, influencers, and opinion leaders to help IMM grow as a brand.

“I am honored and excited to begin my new tenure as Executive Vice President of Istituto Marangoni Miami and look forward to working with the faculty, staff, alumni, and colleagues,” said Hughes. “For the last five years, it has been a privilege to serve on the Advisory Board. I am thrilled to continue advancing IMM’s mission and building on its strong foundation and legacy of excellence to transform Miami’s fashion landscape. Excited to work with this dynamic community in this new role and as Co-Chair of the Advisory Board to continue to provide the highest levels of excellence.”

Before becoming IMM’s new Executive Vice President, Eva Hughes was the founder and CEO of Adira Consulting, CEO of Condé Nast México & Latin America, and Editor-in-Chief of Vogue México & Latin America. In the school’s last graduation ceremony, in December of 2022, Hughes was awarded an Honorary Masters Degree in fashion and luxury brand management.
