FAQ

Why should I get a Master’s degree?
Studying and completing a Master’s degree provides students with the chance to enhance their knowledge and techniques in the field in order to gain more opportunities in the industry. For those with a newly discovered creative passion for fashion, Istituto Marangoni Miami’s Master’s programs offer an outlet to explore the possibilities of the industry. Additionally, the fashion Master’s degrees are backed by the school’s Italian history intertwined with the creativity of Miami and the allure of the campus’ proximity to the beach.
What do I need before I do a Master’s in Fashion or Interior Design?
In order to apply to complete a Master’s degree at Istituto Marangoni Miami, applicants must have already previously completed a bachelor’s degree and can prove their completion. Prior experience in fashion or design is not required but is strongly recommended. Those interested in studying a Master’s program without previously having completed a Bachelor’s degree will not be considered and will be redirected towards a better-suited program offered at Istituto Marangoni Miami.
How long does it take to complete a Master’s program?
The Master of Arts degrees at Istituto Marangoni Miami are 36-credit hour programs that typically span over a duration of 16 months. This applies to our Fashion & Luxury Brand Management, Digital Communication & Social Media Strategy programs, and Fashion Design Master’s programs. This timeline also applies to degrees completed online or in person. Our MFA in Interior Design program totals 75 credit hours, which spans approximately two years.
What is the difference between an MA and an MFA?
An MA is a Master’s of Arts, while an MFA is a Master’s of Fine Arts. An MA degree will cover a broader focus of subjects on a multidisciplinary level, whereas MFA degrees will hone in more on a specific discipline. Currently, the only program we offer as an MFA is our MFA in Interior Design. All of our remaining programs are MAs — MA in Fashion & Luxury Brand Management, MA in Digital Communication & Social Media Strategy, and MA in Fashion Design.
